This article will show you how to use the Katana Unity plugin in your Unity project.
First, you need to download the plugin, you can get it here.
Create a new Unity project:
Select the menu option Assets/Import Package/Custom Package:
Select the Katana Unity package and press Open:
The following window will appear. Make sure that all the items are selected and press Import:
Locate the KatanaCamera prefab under the Assets/Katana/Prefab folder in your project then drag and drop it on your scene hierarchy:
You can delete the default Unity camera.
Optionally, set the Katana camera profile. Choices are fast, medium (default) and accurate:
Create a new scene and save it:
Add a 3D model or simply a cube to that scene:
Set the Z position of that 3D model to 30 so it will appear in front of your camera:
Now the demo app can be build. Select the menu option File/Build Settings and add your current scene:
Select Android in the platform list then press Switch Platform. Press on Player Settings and set your company name:
Set also the Bundle Identifier:
Press Build and Run, give a name to your package and press Save:
Enjoy the demo. For best results, initialize against a planar surface, e.g. desk or wall.
